Phnom Oudong dates from the early 7th century and was the old capital of Cambodia (1618 - 1866) before the capital was moved to Phnom Penh. It is now the official resting place of the most sacred of Buddha's bones possessed by Cambodia. Originally stored at the monument in front of the railway station in Phnom Penh and later Wat Phnom, the bone has had a new temple built top the mountain and is now the tallest one of three temples that exist there.

Ta Phrom's temple, 12th century, as well as that of Yeay Peau, are situated at 40 km of Phnom Penh. Ta Phrom is a very beautiful temple maintained well with flowers and trees. It was built by the King Jayavarman VII on the place of a sanctuary of the 7th century. Some superb sculptures of Apsaras and low-reliefs from angkorian period. Ta Phrom is situated near of the Tonle Bati lake. The main sanctuary contains 5 rooms with des Shiva Lingas. The Red Khmers damaged these rooms.
Chiso Temple

The 11th century mountain temple was built of laterite, brick, and sandstone. The mountain stands 100m high with two stone stairs. One can climb to the top (about 30 minutes) via the western staircase, consisting of 206 steps. The northern staircase, consisting of 434 steps, takes about one hour to climb. This mountain temple can be reached via Road No. 2.
